Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Northumberland

Description

Bolt Hole by the beach is a beautiful self-catering holiday home-away-from-home tucked away on a quiet little street in Newbiggin by the sea on the Northumberland coast.

The holiday home is a 2-minute stroll from the amazing south facing Newbiggin bay with promenade & beach. It has a private courtyard which isn’t overlooked and is great for contemplating the day ahead, al fresco meals or just chilling with a glass of something at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. The property sleeps up to 5 people (+ a baby/toddler) in 2 spacious bedrooms (max 4 adults in 2 double beds please) and provides guests with a welcoming, homely, and comfortable place to stay.

The lounge is furnished with plenty of comfortable seating and has a Google SMART TV with Netflix so there’s always something good to watch. Even if the weather isn’t great you can curl up with a cosy throw and connect with the outside world or binge on your favourite Netflix box sets after a walk along the beach. The kitchen has everything you will need to make your self-catering stay easy. There’s a brand-new washer/dryer, electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, family size fridge freezer, toaster, Tassimo coffee maker and a full range of cutlery, crockery & utensils. Essential pantry items are always available as are toilet tissue & hand soaps. There is a separate dining room which you can open into the living space. The extending dining table comfortably seats everyone so you can enjoy a family meal in comfort which is great if you prefer a night in with a cooked meal or a cheeky holiday takeaway! The dining room also has a single sofa bed, offering downstairs sleeping facilities if needed. It can be closed off again to provide a private space for sleeping – or to shut yourself away with a good book.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is a place of relaxation and comfort. Its simply decorated with a feature wall mural of Newbiggin Bay, its furnished with a new double bed [superior mattress], drawer chest & bedsides and it’s a great place to fall asleep while listening to the crash of the waves. Bedroom 2 is the Family Room. Furnished with a triple bunk bed comprising double bed with single above [we wouldn’t recommend the single bunk for over 16s]. We also have a junior ‘ready bed’, a travel cot and a single Jay-be folding guest bed so there’s something suitable for everyone. The room is super spacious with plenty of play space for little pirates who can enjoy our treasure chest of pirate themed books, sea creatures, games, dress ups and DVDs. The bathroom is part tiled and the power shower over the bath provides ample hot water – perfect for rinsing off the sand you’ve brought back from the beach!

Out back, our enclosed patio is modern, secure, private and not overlooked and is a great space for al fresco dining or for letting the children play safely. Out front, free on-street parking is available usually directly outside the property. Public transportation links are available within a 5 minute walk. The promenade is the longest in Northumberland  and is home to the oldest operational Lifeboat station in the British Isles.  It also has a fabulous sea front Maritime centre with museum, café and gift shop.  As well as having its own ‘craft ale micro pub’ Newbiggin by the sea is also the home to the last pub before Norway!
